We moved into our beautiful, 100 year old brick house in 2004 and we have experienced thousands of earthquakes, our house has been crumbling. It takes a 4.0 earthquake to really feel it but my house is shaken by even the small ones and produces cracks that cannot be avoided. My first inclination was to always blame the cats but I can’t blame them anymore because they are not jumping on the bed and making it shake when they are already asleep on it. Truthout has announced an eighteen part series of articles devoted to the Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal on the Human Rights Impacts of Fracking. Approximately one article per month will be published between now and the Tribunal’s two weeks of plenary hearings — one week in the US and one week in the UK — in October of 2017.Read more
Residents of other countries in which fracking occurs may wish to hold preliminary mini-tribunals on the human rights dimensions of fracking. Testimony and findings from those mini-tribunals can then be available to the plenary Tribunal hearings in October of 2017.
